VILLAANELLE

Flowers, flowers, springtime flowers
The Queen of Seasons comes spritely
Spring bursts into lovely colours;

Heart thrills to see rainbow showers
Gushing breeze from woods blows gently
Flowers, flowers, springtime flowers;

An eye-feast of fragrant flowers
Spread all over each green valley
Spring bursts into lovely colours;

Bees buzz entranced, dark cloud hovers
Birds fly so high to play coyly
Flowers, flowers, springtime flowers;

Vast blades of rich sungold flowers
Snow crown’d hills let brooks flow calmly.
Spring bursts into lovely colours;

Earth wakes up for nature’s favours
Spring stays virgin, serene, lonely
Flowers, flowers, springtime flowers,
Spring bursts into lovely colours.
